How it works and its limits

removepeople.ai is an AI people remover that runs in your web browser. Upload a photo, type who should go (for example “the man on the left”) and the AI removes them and rebuilds the background. Your first edit is free once you sign in with Google; after that, 3 HD edits cost $4.99 once, or plans start at $9 a month. There's no watermark, and photos aren't stored on our servers; they're processed by Google's Gemini model. Results vary with busy backgrounds, so check edges before you download.

The proof

Judge it on the results, not the reviews

Compare the original photos with their AI-generated results. Drag any slider, or open a prepared sample result in the editor before you pay. Your first edit of your own photo is free with Google sign-in; after that, edits use credits.

Pricing

Every plan does the same thing. Pick how big and how often.

Plus

Plus outputs 2K at 2816 by 1536 pixels, enough for A4.

2K · 2816 × 1536 · 4× HD

  • Everything in Starter

Studio

For property, product and client work

$49/month

Full-frame quality — for photos you hand to someone else

Studio outputs 4K Ultra HD at 5632 by 3072 pixels, enough for A2.

4K Ultra HD · 5632 × 3072 · 16× HD

  • 100 edits every month
  • 4K Ultra HD output (5632 × 3072) — 16× the pixels of HD, prints to A2

  • Everything in Plus

An edit is a photo, not a person. “Remove the two people on the left and the man behind the fountain” is one edit, not three — so 20 a month goes further than it sounds.

On every plan

  • Everyone you name goes in a single edit — a whole group costs one
  • Objects too: photobombers, bins, wires, signs
  • Crop, straighten, resize and rename before you download
  • Just describe it in plain words — no brushes, no masking
  • No watermark, on any plan
  • Photos are never stored and never used to train models
  • JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 20MB

FAQ

Common questions

Is removepeople.ai free?

Your first edit is free: sign in with Google, upload your own photo and describe who to remove. After that, 3 HD edits cost $4.99 once, or plans start at $9 a month. Sample photos are always free to try with no sign-in.

What are the limits on the free edit?

One free edit per person. Limits apply per account, device and network, and the free edit isn't available in every region. If a free edit fails, it isn't used and you can try again. If today's free edits have run out, you can try a sample or buy a pack.

What happens after my free edit?

You can buy 3 HD edits for $4.99 with no subscription, or choose a monthly plan from $9 if you edit often.

Is there a watermark?

No. Your edited photo downloads without a watermark, including the free edit.

Can I remove people from a photo without a subscription?

Yes. The one-time pack costs $4.99 for 3 HD edits with JPEG downloads and no watermark. Sign in securely to keep your credits available. There is no recurring charge; subscriptions are available if you edit regularly.

Can I see what it does before I pay?

Yes. Try a sample with no sign-in, or edit your own photo free with Google sign-in. After that, 3 HD edits cost $4.99.

How does the AI remove people?

Our AI identifies the people you describe, removes them, and rebuilds the background using context from the surrounding image — matching textures, lighting and shadows so the space they occupied looks like it was never filled.

What's the difference between the plans?

Mostly two things: how many edits you get a month, and how good they come back. Starter ($9, 20 edits) returns HD — 1408 × 768, crisp on a phone. Plus ($19, 50 edits) returns 2K at 2816 × 1536, four times the pixels, prints sharp to A4, and adds PNG and WebP export. Studio ($49, 100 edits) returns 4K Ultra HD at 5632 × 3072 — sixteen times the pixels of HD — prints to A2, and adds export sets and enlarging beyond native size. Plain-language removal, objects as well as people, no watermark, nothing stored, and the crop/straighten/resize tools are the same on all three.

Does a photo with five people in it cost five edits?

No. An edit is a photo, not a person. Name everyone you want gone in one go and they're removed together, for one edit — so 20 a month goes further than it sounds.

What image types and sizes are supported?

JPEG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20MB. Works best on high-resolution photos. The AI handles both simple and complex backgrounds.

Can I remove objects too, or only people?

Both. People removal is our specialty, but the same engine removes photobombing objects, bins, wires, and other distractions — just describe what you want gone.

Does it work on group photos?

Yes. Describe them all in one go — “remove the two people on the left and the person behind the fountain” — and they go together, in a single edit.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — one click from your account, no email required. Your plan runs to the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops. You'll never be charged again.

What happens to my photos?

Your photo isn't stored on our servers. To make the edit, it's sent to Google's Gemini AI model for processing. For full details, read our privacy policy. Read the privacy policy
